Rabbi David Zaoui used his friendship with French President Nicholas Sarkozy to spread the message of the Noahide Laws

Rabbi David Zaoui, 52, OBM

January 18, 2021 – 5 Shevat 5781

He was 52 and suffered from a sudden heart attack. 

R’ David, who loved fellow Jews and was motivated to help others, led a Chabad shul in the Neuilly-sur-Seine, an auent suburb on the western boundary of Paris, France. 

He became friendly with the politician Nicolas Sarkozy while he served as Mayor of Neuilly-sur-Seine and remained in touch with Sarkozy after he was elected as President of France (2007-2012). R’ David used the connection to help spread the need for all gentiles to obey the Seven Noahide Laws. 

He published a book of Torah thoughts written by rabbis from across the country which draw enthusiastic support of France’s Chief Rabbi Joseph Sitruk OBM. He would often accompany Rabbi Leibel Groner, Mazkir of the Rebbe, during his visits to France. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Yael Zaoui and their children.
