US government sponsored group says Biblical anti-suicide sentiments come from Noahide Law

The Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC) is an interfaith initiative which is supported by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) under Grant No. 1 U79 SM57392-04. While the government states "the opinions, conclusions, and recommendations expressed are those of the authors and SPRC and do not necessarily reflect the views of SAMHSA, CMHS, or any of the reviewers", still, according to the SPRC, the basis of biblical anti-suicide laws come from the Noahide Laws; they are trying to claim everything. Noahidists have also taken aim at euthanasia rights (here).

QUOTE

Judaism teaches that how we are born and how we die are in God’s hands. Life belongs to God, not to the individual, and it is a gift to be treasured. The Biblical basis for the injunction against suicide has been derived from the Noahide laws: “For your lifeblood too, I will require a reckoning.”
